The reference shelf for TOVIO: quick answers, fixes, recipes, how it compares, where it's headed, and how to help build it. Start with whatever question brought you here.

Just need a quick answer?

Most "wait, how does that work?" questions are answered in the FAQ --- Git compatibility, hosting, whether agents can read your secrets, and more.

  • FAQ

The questions everyone asks first. Is it Git-compatible? Do I have to host anything? Can an AI agent read my secrets?

Where else to look

These resources point inward to the rest of the docs. When you want to do something rather than look something up:

  • Learning TOVIO from scratch --- the getting-started tutorials take you from install to your first protected secret.
  • Task-focused how-tos --- the guides cover everyday work, permissions, collaboration, and migration.
  • Giving agents access --- the AI agents section is the deep dive on capability tokens and provenance.
  • Every command and flag --- the CLI reference.

TOVIO is in active development

The offline core, the cryptographic permission layer, the agent control plane, the Forge, and the semantic layer are all implemented under their documented supported profiles. What is still open is ecosystem, scale, productization, publication, and external-assurance work, and no public release has been accepted or tagged yet. Pages flag anything that is a design target rather than shipped. The roadmap has the full picture.
